What’s the 1 thing I should start taking?

2009 January 24

Are you known for any 1 thing in particular?

Do you tend to get some of the same questions over and over from new people that you meet in that context?

To me, it’s always interesting to see how people perceive what you do and how they tend to ask alot of the same questions.

One of the most common questions I tend to get from new people I meet that learn that I do Wellness Coaching is “What’s the one thing I should start taking?”

Now that’s a great question that seems to be on everyone’s mind when speaking with someone that may know about something that could possibly help them in there quest to be well.

However, Be warned!

Anyone that blatently answers that question with a recommendation, without first digging a bit deeper may be giving bad advice that could be harmful or a waste of money.

What do I mean by that?

I mean it’s always so  interesting to hear people answer that without asking any further questions to the person that is inquiring because they cannot give a real suggestion without first finding out more about where a person is at in their life.

Let’s break that question down for a minute so I can show you what I mean.

What’s the 1 thing I should start taking?

Well let’s see, here are some of the first things that I ask when I hear that.

What are you currently taking?

What’s your diet look like?

Are you getting enough of your essential nutrients in your diet?

Are you getting enough of your necessary nutrients in your diet?

Did you know that as a basic rule, you should be thinking about detoxifying before you begin fortifying?

You see, how can I answer the question without first asking some of these other questions to find out where a person is really at?

If I told them they should be taking a multiple vitamin mineral and they already were, does that help them? NO…

If you asked them some preliminary questions like those above and found out a bit more about them and there lifestyle first, do you think you could come up with a better idea of where they are and where they could improve?

You can bet on it.

And do you think that they will get a better idea on the philosophy of wellness during the question and answer process that takes place and how they can begin to think about taking better care of themselves in that process?

I sure hope so.

So what’s the 1 thing you should start taking?

Wellness Philosophy. That’s my answer and I’m stickin to it.

The Wellness Coach,

Shawn King
